Junior Infrastructure Operations/Data Center- Shift Analyst
Location: Fully Remote – Charlotte preferred; open to all Duke locations
Schedule: Night Shift | 6:00 PM–6:00 AM | 3–4 days per week
Shift Rotation
The position follows a 10-week rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
- Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Week 4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
- Week 5: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Week 6: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 7: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 8: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 9: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 10: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Position Overview
We are seeking a Shift Analyst to provide overnight monitoring and Tier 2 support for enterprise infrastructure and business-critical applications. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional who is technically curious, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow within an infrastructure environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and troubleshoot Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor and support production batch jobs and workflows.
- Perform server reboots, incident response, and technical escalations.
- Assist with monthly patching, infrastructure changes, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Document incidents, requests, and resolutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams and participate in ongoing technical cross-training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic infrastructure/server support experience.
- Windows Server experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work a rotating overnight schedule.
Preferred Experience
- Linux/UNIX
- VMware or Citrix
- Infrastructure monitoring and/or batch management
- Storage/SAN infrastructure
- Windows desktop/server environments
- Automation or scripting
