Release Governance Support Consultant
Location:St. Pete, FL (Hybrid)
Engagement Type: Contract-to-Hire
About the Role
The Release Governance Support Consultant will support a Technology Solutions organization managing complex, mission-critical systems and infrastructure across multiple operating environments.
This role is a key member of the Release Governance team, coordinating large-scale system deployments, upgrades, and production releases. Success requires strong organizational skills, executive-level communication, attention to detail, and the ability to drive accountability across a complex network of project teams, vendors, and business/technology stakeholders. The consultant acts as the central coordinator for release readiness activities, giving leadership clear visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and go-live readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support release governance activities for major technology deployments and system upgrades
- Facilitate release readiness assessments, go/no-go reviews, and executive decision-making forums
- Develop and maintain release readiness dashboards, action logs, risk registers, and deployment trackers
- Coordinate development, review, and approval of Method of Procedure (MOP) documents and deployment plans
- Track and drive completion of release exit criteria across multiple teams and vendors
- Identify, communicate, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies impacting release readiness
- Develop executive-ready PowerPoint presentations, status reports, and leadership communications
- Support deployment planning, cutover preparation, hypercare readiness, and post-release governance
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings; ensure action items are documented, assigned, and closed
- Provide coordination support during weekend/after-hours deployment events as needed
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years supporting complex technology programs, releases, deployments, or consulting engagements
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across large, cross-functional teams
- Strong executive presentation and PowerPoint development capabilities
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and presenting status to leadership
- Ability to independently drive follow-ups, hold teams accountable, and track commitments
- Experience managing risks, dependencies, action items, and governance processes
- Willingness to work onsite, travel as needed, and support occasional weekend deployment activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting background (Big 4 or comparable consulting firm)
- Experience in highly regulated, mission-critical, or complex operational environments
