Microsoft Cloud Engineer (Power Platform + Azure Automation)
Remote
Contract to Hire
Overview: The Microsoft Cloud Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation and low-code solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and Azure Cloud. Reporting to the AVP, Information Technology Operations & Security, this role works directly with business teams to identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes and turn them into reliable automated workflows and tools. This is a builder’s role: the ideal candidate is equally comfortable gathering requirements from a business stakeholder and building, testing, and deploying solutions end-to-end.
Required Skills
-
3+ years of hands-on experience building solutions with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps in a production environment
-
Experience designing, building, and maintaining Power Automate flows that automate manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes
-
Experience developing Power Apps solutions (canvas and model-driven) to replace spreadsheet- or email-based workflows with reliable, supportable tools
-
Working experience with Azure Cloud services (e.g., apps, storage, and related infrastructure)
-
Demonstrated ability to gather requirements directly from business users and translate them into working, supportable solutions
-
Comfortable owning delivery end-to-end — from requirements intake through build, testing, deployment, and support
-
Familiarity with the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem
-
Scripting experience
-
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
-
Detail-oriented and self-directed, with good judgment about when to move fast and when to slow down for governance and security
Nice to Have Skills
-
Healthcare or PBM experience
Preferred Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
-
Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and scope solutions that fit how teams actually work
-
Experience prototyping quickly and iterating based on user feedback, balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability
-
Experience identifying and remediating technical debt or fragile automations in an existing environment
Other Requirements
-
Follow organizational data governance, security, and access-control standards for every automation, app, and integration built
-
Maintain clear documentation of flows, apps, and integrations to support ongoing maintenance and continuity
-
Train and support business users on new tools, apps, and automations after deployment
-
Remote employees are expected to maintain a professional work environment free of distractions to ensure optimal performance and collaboration
If you’re ready to build automation that reduces manual work and improves operational reliability, apply today.
